Unvaxxed HSBC staff to pay for regular Covid test starting October

HSBC sent an internal email to all staff members saying that those who have not received vaccination before October 1 will have to pay to take Covid tests every two weeks.

Staff members who cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons must provide proof or a certificate with a doctor's signature.

The email also said that staff can still get vaccinated during office hours, but must undergo Covid testing in their free time.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority issued a notice in June demanding banks in the city hand over a list of staff members who will get vaccinatated. Those who have not been vaccinated will have to undergo Covid testing every two weeks.

However, the authority didn't set a deadline for bank staffers to get vaccinated by.
