Two top govt officials contract Covid-19

Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration Warner Cheuk Wing-hing and Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau Ying-wah have contracted Covid-19 and both are now in isolation.

The government announcements on Friday morning said Cheuk and Yau last went to work on August 25 and wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work, including rapid antigen tests conducted daily. They also have no recent travel history.

The Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Bernard Chan Pak-li and the Political Assistant to the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Bruce Lee Sai-wah were identified as close contacts but tested negative, the government said, adding that the offices of the officials will be disinfected.
