The Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, announced that a total quarantine begins on July 18 in the provinces of Panama and Panama West on Saturday and Sunday.
Sucre explained that a curfew in the country will also be established from 7:00 pm on Friday, July 17 until Monday, July 19 at 5:00 am.
He added that the population should continue with measures to prevent Covid-19 disease, such as avoiding family reunions, physical distancing, a mask and hand washing.
At the press conference Sucre also announced that the members of the Rotary and Lions civic clubs will join the fight against the new coronavirus.
Regarding the staggered entry of officials and employees of private companies, Sucre said that in the public sector, work will begin at 9:00 a.m. starting on Monday, July 20.
While in the private sector the entrance to offices and companies will be at 8:00 am. With this measure, the crowding of people on public transport will be avoided.
In addition, the minister stressed that the opening of a part of block 3 in the province of Los Santos is being analyzed.
That same analysis is carried out to open a part of block 4 that includes restaurants, barbecues and inns.
