Total COVID-19 death toll in Panama reach 400; total cases 17,233

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Tuesday, June 9, that there are 379 new cases of the virus in 24 hours. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 403 dead in the country.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 17,233, while 10,561 patients have recovered from the disease.

A total of 5 new deaths were recorded over 24 hours. Two of the new death cases were women, both aged 50 and 79, and three men aged 71, 80 and 85.

Testing

1,452 new tests were conducted in since the last report. The number of total tests is now 80,720, of which 60,899 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 1,887 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

5,122 patients are in home isolation, of which 692 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 365 are in the hospital ward and 90 in the intensive care units.
