Government locked down three buildings in Wan Chai, Ho Man Tin and Happy Valley on Friday night, after health authorities detected three preliminary positive cases there.
They are:
- Lee Shun Building, 157-159 Lockhart Road in Wan Chai;
- Block B, The Crescent, 13 Ho Man Tin Hill Road in Ho Man Tin; and
- Yuk Sing Building, 1-9 Yuk Sau Street in Happy Valley.
The lockdowns in Wan Chai and Happy Valley are expected to be lifted at 7am Saturday (Jan 8), while the one in Ho Man Tin at 7.30am.
Residents of these three building, regardless of their vaccinated status, must undergo compulsory Covid-19 testing.
Only those who had tested negative between Wednesday (Jan 5) and today (Friday) with relevant proof could be exempted from taking the test again.
The testing requirement also applies to citizens who had been to the Wan Chai building between December 27, 2021 and today; the Ho Man Tin building between December 25, 2021 and today; and the Happy Valley building between last Saturday (Jan 1) and today.
The building Wan Chai was locked down because a 58-year-old woman who lives there tested preliminary positive. She had worked at several supermarkets across the city and been to the Hong Kong Brand and Products Expo.
As for the lockdown in Ho Man Tin, it was triggered by the RTHK program host Joyce Yeung, 53, who had been to the birthday party of Witman Hung Wai-man and tested preliminary positive.
Meanwhile, the lockdown in Happy Valley involved an Indonesian domestic helper who tested preliminary positive after contacting another infected helper at Bethel Fellowship Ltd in North Point on January 2.
