The President of the National Assembly, Marcos Castillero, tests positive with Covid-19

The deputy Marcos Castillero, current president of the National Assembly, tested positive for coronavirus.

Castillero "is under quarantine under medical observation," the Panamanian Legislative Branch reported in a statement.

Other members of the Assembly have caught COVID-19, among them the deputies Tito Rodríguez, Pedro Torres, Héctor Brands and Julio Mendoza.

The National Assembly adopted a series of biosafety measures to prevent contagion, such as the distribution of masks, alcohol gel as well as the installation of acrylic panels among the seats of deputies.
