Teachers and school staff to have one day off for each vaccine dose

Education Bureau sent letters to all aided schools in the city, saying that teachers and staff can have one holiday for each dose of vaccine administered.

It said teachers or staff members who receive Covid-19 vaccine between June 1 and August 31 can have a holiday the day after their vaccination.

They can also choose to take a half day off in the afternoon on the day they get the jabs, and take another half day off in the morning of the following day, totalling one day off.

If teachers and staff are already vaccinated, they can have one holiday for each dose of vaccine administered by March 31 2022, with at most two holidays upon vaccination.

Schools under the direct subsidy scheme, kindergartens and child care centers should also arrange vaccine holidays for their teachers and staffers, the bureau said.

The arrangements for teachers and staff of government schools will follow those of the civil servants, the bureau added. For other schools, the bureau encouraged them to arrange vaccine holidays for staffers as well.
