Starting this Friday, the curfew returns on weekends in Panama and Panama West

The Government of Panama informs the new measures for the curfew in the provinces of Panama and Panama West, which includes the return of the total quarantine on weekends, starting this Friday and other provisions.

According to the Decree published this July 17, the curfew is established from 7:00 pm on Friday until 5:00 am on Monday. For the rest of the provinces they remain as before.

While from Monday to Thursday it is maintained from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am

This measure is adopted based on the behavior of citizens, who have not been complying with the sanitary provisions established by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Work activities such as pharmacies, drugstores, will be subject to curfew, with the exception of hospital pharmacies, which may be open 24 hours.

Likewise, hypermarkets, minisupers, supermarkets, markets, grocery stores, banks, finance companies, pawn shops, credit unions, insurers, hardware stores.

Laundries, with the exception of those that provide hospital services.

Only the provinces of Panama and Panama West concentrate more than half of the cases of COVID-19, in both of which the movement restriction is maintained on specific days and hours, according to sex and number of identity card or passport.

It should be noted that the restrictions may be modified by the Ministry of Health through resolution, depending on the incidence of coronavirus infections.
