Sinaproc issues warning for tides as high as 16.7ft in the Pacific coast

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), through the Emergency Operations Center, issued a notice of prevention for maximum tides in the Panamanian Pacific from this Tuesday until Sunday, July 26 at 7:55 pm

The tides will reach 16.7 feet in height, according to the bulletin issued by Sinaproc.

The entity asked the coastal population to follow prevention measures, since if the tide coincides with the rains, they could increase the levels of the rivers and streams, causing their rebound and causing flooding.

In this sense, Sinaproc recommended keeping a watch on children, the elderly and people with disabilities; in the event of a flood, remain calm and call emergency entities (520-4429 / 335/911).

If flooding occurs, lower the lever of the electrical panel of the house and evacuate to high areas following biosecurity measures before the COVID-19.

Light boats must use safety equipment for navigation and life jackets.
