Panamanian boxing legend Roberto “Hands of Stone” Durán has tested positive for COVID-19, and is treated in a private hospital. The four-time world champion, turned 69 on June 16.
According to his son Robin Durán, his father felt a bit cold and they decided to take him to a hospital, since one of his lung does not work 100% due to a car accident in Argentina a some years ago.
The doctors decided to keep Durán hospitalized, due to his age - he turned 69 on June 16. They tested him for Covid-19, to rule out this virus.
“My dad's tests have just arrived and confirm that he is positive for Covid-19. Thank God for now he is not with symptoms beyond a cold," his son published on social networks.
Nicknamed “Hands of Stone” Durán is recognized worldwide as one of the best light weight (135 pounds) boxers of all time.
He has a record of 103 fights won, 16 losses, 70 won by knockout.
