The Panamanian Restaurant Association delivered the health and safety protocols for the reopening to the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (Mitradel).
In preparation for its reopening, leaders of the Panama Restaurant Association presented to the Vice Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Roger Tejada, the health and safety protocols that they prepared for the establishments that are members of their organization, with the aim of passing the technical verification of the entity, in coordination with MINSA and MICI.
During the meeting, the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Juan Carlos Sosa, was present, who expressed the importance of companies preparing their biosafety protocols for reopening. Staff from the Ministry of Health also participated, who gave the basic guides and explained the process for the certification of the protocols.
The Vice Minister of Labor, Roger Tejada, recognized the importance of inter-institutional teamwork in preparation for the post-Covid-19 reopening. A healthy and healthy return will allow us many workers to reactivate, that is important for our economy, but safeguarding the life and health of each one of them, said Tejada.
Domingo De Obaldía, President of the Association of Restaurants and Related of Panama, explained that the approach seeks to obtain the approval of the protocols and create a base model that serves as a model for other establishments, the idea is that we have a guide so that businesses are preparing in advance, he said.
Companies interested in presenting their health and safety protocols, together with the registration of the Health and Safety committees, can do so virtually from the Panama Digital platform, with access from www.mitradel.gob.pa. There, upon passing the verification of the Occupational Health specialists of the Mitradel Inspection Directorate, it will be passed to the Ministry of Health to obtain the corresponding certification.
Restaurants, which are under block 4, has no expected opening date. According to Association of Restaurants, Bars and Clubs (ARBYD), 40 % of the restaurants are not capable to reopen after being closed for such a long time..
