Police chief Raymond Siu catches Covid for the second time

Police commissioner Raymond Siu Chak-yee has been undergoing quarantine after he tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time on Friday, following his first infection in August.

Siu last went to work on Thursday (Nov 17), and he wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work.

Police have conducted thorough cleaning and disinfection operations at the office concerned and will continue to implement disease prevention measures vigorously, according to a government statement.

Siu also attended the Disciplined Services Tennis Tournament on Thursday and joined other participating officials in a tea break after the prize presentation ceremony.

Officials including Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung, Commissioner of Customs and Excise Louise Ho Pui-shan, Commissioner of Correctional Services Wong Kwok-hing, and Director of Fire Services Andy Yeung Yan-kin have been identified as close contacts, and are also undergoing home quarantine.

They saw their rapid antigen test results returned negative on Friday.
