Police brings down sex & drug trafficking and counterfeit money ring

An alleged network dedicated to sex trafficking, drug trafficking and counterfeiting money was brought down last Friday in the city of Aguadulce during a police operation, in which $940,000 counterfeit bills were seized and three people were arrested.

In the operation, in which officials from the Coclé and Veraguas Drug Prosecutors and police from the Human Trafficking Division participated, nine women were found who were allegedly forced to work as prostitutes.

In the raid carried out in a residence located on Marcos Robles de Aguadulce street. One of the rooms had several boxes of counterfeited cash, which it is presumed to have been aimed for circulation in local businesses, taking advantage of the Covid pandemic to make cash transactions.

A vehicle that was located outside the residence where the drugs were located was also seized.

The authorities transferred the nine women to a safe place where they will undergo a medical examination, establish their identities and whether they were subjected to sexual exploitation.

Local residents revealed that many cars were arriving at the raided residence in the evening hours, so they asked the authorities to investigate these activities.
