Paul Chan to attend G20 summit in Bali

Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po will depart for Bali, Indonesia, tomorrow afternoon (November 13) to attend the Group of Twenty (G20) Leader’s Summit, which will be held on November 15 and 16, as a member of the delegation of China.

Chan will return to Hong Kong in the morning on November 17. During his absence, the Deputy Financial Secretary, Michael Wong Wai-lun, will act as Financial Secretary.

Chan arrived in Hong Kong on November 1 after being infected with Covid during his visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 27. He tested positive on his arrival at Hong Kong airport but was considered a 'recovery case' and did not do quarantine, after which he attended the Global Financial Leaders' Investment Summit and is on another overseas trip only less than two weeks after his recovery.
