Panama reports 1,075 new cases of COVID-19 and accumulates 44,332 infections

In the last 24 hours, Panama registered 1,075 new cases of COVID-19, reaching a total of 44,332 accumulated cases, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported.

Meanwhile, 30 deaths were reported, increasing to 893 the number of deaths from this virus in the country, representing a case fatality rate of 2.00%.

2,797 new tests were applied to detect COVID-19 for a positivity rate of 38%. To date, a total of 161,466 tests have been carried out to detect COVID-19, of which 114,238 have been negative.

There are 22,170 clinically recovered patients and 21,269 active cases, according to the Minsa epidemiological report.

Of the total assets, 20,175 patients are in home isolation, of whom 19,497 are at home and 678 in hospital hotels; while 1,094 are hospitalized, of them 936 in the ward and 158 in intensive care.

The townships affected with more than ten cases are: Pacora (50), Tocumen (45), December 24 (44), Mañanitas (38), San Francisco (36), Vista Alegre (36), Pedregal (30), Juan Díaz (28), Parque Lefevre (19), Arraiján (17), Betania (16), Amelia Denis De Icaza (15), Belisario Frías (15), Paso Ancho (15), Alcalde Díaz (14), Barrio Colón ( 14), Río Abajo (14), Bella Vista (13), Chilibre (13), Sabanitas (13) and Calidonia (12).
