Panama records 958 new COVID-19 cases and 31 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Monday, July 20, that there are total of 54,426 cases of the virus in Panama. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 1,127 dead in the country.

According to the official data, 29,164 patients have clinically recovered from the disease. There are currently 24,135 active cases.

Deaths

A total of 31 new deaths were recorded over 24 hours, which brings the total to 1,127. The death rate of the infected is currently 2.1%.

Testing

2,900 new tests were conducted in since the last report, of which 33% were positive. The number of total tests is now 189,941, of which 132,560 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 4,439 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

22,126 patients are in home isolation and 680 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 1,159 are in the hospital ward and 170 in the intensive care units.
