Panama records 1,301 new COVID-19 cases 16 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Sunday, July 12, that there are total of 45,633 cases of the virus in Panama. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 909 dead in the country.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 45,633, while 23,039 patients have clinically recovered from the disease. There are currently 21,685 active cases.

Deaths

A total of 16 new deaths were recorded over 24 hours, which brings the total to 909. The death rate of the infected is currently 1.99%.

Testing

3,461 new tests were conducted in since the last report, of which 37.6% were positive. The number of total tests is now 164,927, of which 116,372 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 3,855 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

19,867 patients are in home isolation and 672 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 987 are in the hospital ward and 159 in the intensive care units.

Cases by provinces: Panama 27,508, Panama Oeste 7,962, Colón 2,357, Chiriquí 2,189, Bocas del Toro 1,598, Veraguas 1,518, Darién 1,131, Ngäbe Buglé 533, Coclé 398, Guna Yala 273, Herrera 110 and Los Santos 56.
