The Ministry of Health (Minsa), after an interdisciplinary meeting, decided to return to mobility restrictions per hour from Monday June 8, according to the last digit of the ID or passport, and according to the gender of residents in the provinces from Panama and Panama West.
To come to the conclusion, Minsa considered factors including ignorance in the use of masks, the little distance in the lines of shops and public transport, high mobility inland, the increase in cases.
"From this Monday the 8th, the restriction measure for hours, ID number and gender is returned as previously established. It is important to emphasize that the reopening of activities in Block 2 is maintained, reinforcing the biosecurity measures established by the Minsa," said Nadja Porcell, national Director of Public Health.
Dr. Porcell stressed that even Panama can win the battle against COVID-19 as long as it avoids the exhaustion of hospital beds, ventilators, and the overwhelming the health personnel.
