No resident at Block 2, Grandeur Terrace in Tin Shui Wai tested positive for Covid-19 after the building was locked down Friday night over a possible Omicron infection involving an airport ground crew member.
The lockdown was lifted at around 7am Saturday. As of 1am, none among the 1,122 residents there tested positive for the coronavirus.
Government also sent staff to visit around 370 households, among which 32 households did not answer. Government added they will take measures to follow up.
As for people who had been to there for more than two hours between December 17, 2021 and Friday (Dec 31) they are reminded to undergo compulsory testing by tomorrow (Jan 2).
The preliminary case involved a 30-year-old female ground crew member who lives at that block on Tin Shui Road. She had received two doses of Sinovac vaccine on July 25 and August 26 in Hong Kong.
She tested negative 10 times in a row between November 24, 2021 and Tuesday (Dec 28). Yet, she developed symptoms like coughing on Tuesday, and tested preliminarily positive at the mobile specimen collection point at Tin Shui Sports Centre two days later (Dec 30).
The CT value of her sample ranged between 29 and 33, and she carried the N501Y and T478K mutant strains, indicating possible Omicron infection.
She didn't have any recent travel history and she last went to work on Wednesday (Dec 29). Primary investigation suggested that she caught the virus at work where she would contact outbound travelers and transit passengers.
