Nam Cheong domestic helper latest Covid patient to be confirmed

Hong Kong is expected to report only one Covid case today, involving an Indonesian domestic helper in Nam Cheong.

The helper was said to have finished her compulsory hotel quarantine and stayed at her employer’s home at Cullinan West in Nam Cheong.

According to sources, the patient’s CT value was high at around 38, meaning a low viral level and less infectious the patient is. She was also tested positive for antibodies after being admitted to the hospital.

Reports suggested that the patient is likely to be an imported case, pending Covid test results of her close contacts.

Authorities yesterday included Block 5A and 5B of Cullinan West in Nam Cheong in the compulsory testing notice, requiring those who had been to the residential blocks for more than two hours from May 8 to undergo Covid test.

Mobile sampling stations were set up by the government outside exit A1 of Nam Cheong station at noon to facilitate residents to get tested.
