Health Minister Luis Francisco Sucre announced on Friday 17 July that they are evaluating the possibility of applying the total quarantine on weekends in the provinces of Colón, Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro in light of the increase in cases of COVID-19.

During a visit to the Coclé Traceability Operations Center, Sucre said that for the moment the total quarantine is applied in Panama and Panama West, because they are the two provinces that are having more and more contagions of the virus.

He expressed that he hopes not to make the same decision for Coclé: if at any time Coclé increases its number of active active cases we would have to make decisions, however I think that Coclé is doing very well.

Sucre warned that parties and spa visits are prohibited at this time, since although it is outdoors, there are always crowds and if one has the right [to be there], the others have also.

It should be noted that on weekends in the provinces of Panama and Panama West, the circulation for both men and women will be prohibited on Saturday and Sunday. Given this, no one may circulate from 7:00 pm on Friday until 5:00 am on Monday.
