The Ministry of Health (Minsa) indicated in its epidemiological report on COVID-19 in Panama that the decision to allow men out on Saturday to carry out their purchases. The allowed time of the day correspond to the last digit of their identity card.
Minsa's decision to permit men to go out on Saturday began last week, after determining that the Rt or effective reproductive number of the virus remained at less than 1.
The men in Panama had remained five consecutive weekends without being able to leave after a total quarantine was decreed and circulation was limited, reducing their outdoor days to two; since according to the reports men were the more likely to violate the quarantine by the authorities.
Decree No. 507 establishes absolute quarantine in the country and some municipalities have established that those who do not comply with it will be sanctioned with fines or community work, in case they cannot pay them.
