Lawmaker Connie Lam under home quarantine over Covid reinfection

Lawmaker Connie Lam So-wai of the New Territories South East constituency tested positive for Covid-19 a second time and is now undergoing quarantine at her home.

The lawmaker last caught Covid in September.

Lam posted a photo of her positive rapid test result on Facebook Thursday morning, adding that she developed symptoms including coughing and chest pain.

She said she last returned to his Citic Tower office and the Legco complex in Admiralty yesterday and has been wearing her mask during work.

Meanwhile, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau Ying-wah is also undergoing home quarantine, after a family member in his household tested positive for Covid.

The government statement noted that Yau will work from home during the quarantine period.

“Yau has been taking COVID-19 nucleic acid tests regularly. He obtained negative results after conducting a nucleic acid test yesterday (December 7) and a rapid antigen test today. He has worn masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work,” the statement wrote.
