Chief Secretary John Lee Ka-chiu arrived at the community vaccination center on Java Road in North Point and received the third dose of Sinovac vaccine on Friday.

Lee said on social media that he expressed gratitude towards medics at the scene for their contribution in fighting Covid. He also spoke to some of the citizens there and encouraged them to call on their friends and families to receive vaccination as soon as possible.

Lee continued that the government will soon extend the arrangement of getting the booster jabs to other eligible clusters, telling unvaccinated citizens to seize the chance and get the jabs.

Starting Thursday, elderly and those in high-risk groups can get their third jabs, including front-line medical workers, staff at border control points, the airport and quarantine hotels, chronic patients and cross-border truck drivers.

They are advised to receive the third dose of Covid vaccine six months after receiving the second dose.
