Lau, who is currently filming for a new movie Crisis Route, uploaded the video on his official website to share the joy with his fans.

He said in the video that he will be spending his birthday at work, thanking the film crew and his family [fans] for the birthday wishes.

The Hong Kong star usually holds fan meetings on his birthday to celebrate his big day with fans, but the event was forced to be canceled in recent years due to Covid.

In the 15-minute video, Lau sang a few classic Chinese songs and also gave fans an update on his daily life.

“I hosted an online live stream event on my birthday last year. For this year, having needed to undergo 21 days of quarantine, I will already be on set filming for my movie on my birthday. So I took the opportunity to record this to meet with you all [fans], hope all of you will enjoy it,” said Lau.

Speaking of his quarantine, he said he had failed to gain weight during his quarantine.

“I have never been that lazy before! I have done nothing but eat and sleep during my quarantine this time. I thought I would have gained some weight but I have not!” He added.

He also said he had not met his fans for almost three years, hoping everything will return to normal soon after his birthday.

“I hope you guys will sleep earlier tonight, I will also go to bed earlier, and I will meet you all in your dreams, promise?” said Lau before ending the video.
