Housing minister undergoing quarantine after family member contracts Covid

Secretary for Housing Winnie Ho Wing-yin is now under quarantine after a family member of her household tested preliminary positive for Covid-19, the Housing Bureau announced on Tuesday.

“Ho has taken Covid-19 rapid antigen tests regularly with negative test results obtained. She also tested negative after conducting a RAT today,” the bureau said.

Separately, Grace Au Wing-yan, Administrative Assistant to the Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, saw her PCR test result returned positive.

The office of the Deputy Chief Secretary said Au wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures when she last went to work yesterday (Mon).

“An office spokesman said today (Tue) that thorough cleaning and disinfection operations at the office concerned have been conducted, and other relevant staff members will continue to undergo Covid-19 tests,” the statement read.

Last Friday (Aug 26), deputy chief secretary Cheuk Wing-hing tested positive for Covid after taking a RAT. He last went to work last Thursday (Aug 25) and has been undergoing quarantine since then.
