Hong Kong Tourism Board says staff not forced to take Covid jabs

The Hong Kong Tourism Board denies today that it is forcing staffers to get vaccinated, only that it encourages them to do so.

This came after reports suggested that the board has forced its staff to get the jab.

A Tourism Board spokesman said the board is currently working on the Hong Kong Cyclothon event, which the Hong Kong government had applied stringent Covid rules in order for the event to be carried out.

“According to the Covid rules, all staff and participants of this event must be vaccinated. The board has therefore encouraged staff who will be a part of these large-scale events to get vaccinated,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman also added that any staff member who cannot receive the vaccine due to health reasons can provide relevant medical proof.
