Hong Kong-Singapore to review travel bubble target date in late August

The arrangements for the Hong Kong-Singapore Air Travel Bubble will be reviewed in late August, given the recent surge of confirmed cases in Singapore.

According to a spokesman of the SAR government, Hong Kong and Singapore authorities are keeping the developments of the Covid epidemic situation, particularly in Singapore, under review to decide on the way forward for the quarantine-free travel plan.

“Given the recent surge of confirmed cases in Singapore, the condition for launching the Air Travel Bubble could not be met for the time being,” the spokesman said.

“Both sides agreed that a review of the way forward could be conducted in late August, taking into account the effectiveness of the enhanced infection control measures implemented by Singapore and the global situation at that time,” the spokesman added.
