The Centre for Health Protection announced three new imported Covid-19 cases today. Residents of a Tsuen Wan block were also slapped with mandatory Covid testings after health authorities were notified of an overseas confirmed case.
The three imported cases today were from France and Pakistan respectively.
Two of them, a 28-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, arrived in Hong Kong from France. They both did not develop any symptoms and were fully vaccinated with both doses of the BioNTech vaccine in April and May in Hong Kong.
The remaining patient, a 51-year-old man, arrived in Hong Kong from Pakistan and underwent his compulsory quarantine at Dorsett Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong hotel in Kwai Chung. He had received one dose of the Convidecia vaccine in Pakistan.
A total of 65 cases have been reported in the past 14 days and all of them are imported cases.
The city’s Covid tally now stands at 12,218.
Meanwhile, the CHP is investigating an overseas case of Covid-19.
The case involved a 17-year-old man who lives at Block 7, Phase 2, Belvedere Garden, Tsuen Wan. He tested negative in Hong Kong on September 23 and traveled to the United Kingdom on September 25 by flight BA0028. His specimen collected in the UK on September 26 tested positive.
He remained asymptomatic and had received two doses of the Sinovac vaccine on July 1 and July 24 in Hong Kong.
As a prudent measure, the building where the patient resided in Hong Kong during the incubation period will be included in a compulsory testing notice.
