HK reports six imported cases, all vaccinated

Health authority reported six imported cases on Saturday, marking the 15th day without an untraceable local infection.

The cases involved five men and a woman aged 30 to 69. They had all received two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

Among the patients, a 48-year-old sea crew member from Ukraine, a 30-year-old foreign domestic helper from Indonesia, a 51-year-old man from the UK and a 47-year-old man from the UK, France and Italy arrived in Hong Kong on Tuesday.

The sea crew member and the helper underwent quarantine at Penny’s Bay Quarantine Centre and were found carrying the L452R mutant strain. They came here traveling on flight KL819 and CX776 respectively.

The two men aged 51 and 47 traveled to the city on flight CX252 and underwent quarantine at Kerry Hotel Hong Kong in Hung Hom. The former tested positive for the L452R mutant strain as well, while the latter developed symptoms on Friday.

The remaining two patients, a 35-year-old man from Mongolia and Korea and a 69-year-old man from the UK, arrived in Hong Kong on Sunday on flight CX419 and VS206 respectively.

The older one underwent quarantine at Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View in Sai Ying Pun. They both carried the L452R mutant strain.

The city's Covid tally now stands at 12,320.
