HK officials visit Shenzhen for border reopening talks

Principal officials including Chief Secretary for Administration John Lee Ka-chiu and Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee are among a delegation to Shenzhen today for border reopening discussions.

Lee arrived in Shenzhen after attending the 2021 Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation Chief Executive Joint Conference in Chengdu on Friday to attend a meeting on mainland and Hong Kong anti-epidemic work, which is expected to also cover border reopening issues, as Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor has previewed.

Secretary for Innovation and Technology Alfred Sit Wing-hang, government adviser on Covid-19 David Hui Shu-cheong from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Department of Health representatives were also among the delegates.
