Gov't calls off daily Covid briefing starting Sep 25

The government has decided to call off the daily press conference on Covid-19 updates starting this coming Sunday (Sep 25), and the newly added positive cases will be announced through press releases.

That said, two health officials Chuang Shuk-kwan and Albert Au Ka-wing are expected to disappear from citizens' sight after more than two years.

“In view of the stabilizing local epidemic situation, the Centre for Health Protection will adjust the risk communication strategy for this stage,” a statement released Friday night read.

“The CHP will continue to report daily positive cases with press releases and regularly update information of the 'Covid-19 Thematic Website,' as well as release relevant information via social media platforms, etc.”

“The CHP will continue to closely monitor local and overseas situations, and release information as and when appropriate according to the development and need of the local epidemic situation.,” it added.
