The first batch of one million Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccines by Sinovac has landed in the Hong Kong international airport today at around 5.30pm.

Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip Tak-kuen and Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee have arrived on the scene to monitor the process.

Chan said the Sinovac vaccines arriving in Hong Kong today is a milestone in the city's anti-epidemic efforts.

“I hope the Hong Kong society can support our vaccination program, with members of the public getting the Covid jabs. The more getting the jabs, the better our society will become,” said Chan.

The Sinovac vaccines have been approved for emergency use in the city’s vaccination program by Hong Kong’s health chief yesterday.
