Environment secretary cleared of Covid after Press Secretary tested positive

According to the office’s statement, the last time when the press secretary worked on-site was last Friday (Aug 12), and had worn masks and abided the anti-epidemic measurements during duty hours. The secretary has no recent travel history.

Tse Chin-wan, Secretary for Environment and Ecology, has tested negative for Covid through the rapid antigen test.

The office said it has conducted thorough cleaning and disinfection at the relevant offices and arranged for relevant staff members to undergo Covid tests following the advice from the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health.

Besides, Director of Administration Brian Lo Sai-hung reported contacting a confirmed infected case of Covid previously. He is receiving home quarantine under the rules of health departments.

Lo was tested negative with daily rapid antigen tests.

In addition, the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary for Health had tested positive for Covid through a rapid antigen test on Monday.

A spokesman for the Health Bureau said the Administrative Assistant has no recent travel history and last went to work on August 9.

Lo Chung-mau, the Secretary for Health, has been taking Covid rapid tests every day and the results are all negative, the spokesman added.
