Eight new COVID deaths reported in Panama within 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Monday afternoon, June 1, that there are 374 new cases of the virus in 24 hours. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 344 dead in the country.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 13,837, while 9,514 patients have recovered from the disease.

Testing

905 new tests were conducted in since the last report. The number of total tests is now 68,635, of which 52,428 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 1,604 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

3,017 patients are in home isolation. 579 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 305 are in the hospital ward and 78 in the intensive care units.

Cases by provinces: Panama 8,714, Panama West 2,636, Veraguas 727, Colón 486, Chiriquí 380, Guna Yala 236, Bocas del Toro 222, Darién 211, Coclé 95, Ngäbe Buglé 84, Los Santos 19 and Herrera 17.
