Deputy justice minister Horace Cheung catches Covid

Deputy Secretary for Justice Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan has become one of the latest government officials to catch Covid-19.

Cheung tested positive in a Covid-19 nucleic acid test on Friday and last went to work on Thursday, according to a Department of Justice announcement.

The department said Cheung had worn face masks and taken rapid tests daily, and that his office will be thoroughly cleansed and staff will be tested for the virus.

Meanwhile, the permanent secretary for culture, sports and tourism, Joe Wong Chi-cho, has also tested positive for Covid-19.

The government said both officials are now in isolation.
