Covid-19 leaves 352 dead in Panama; 14,095 infected with the virus

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) annouced in the epidemiological report on Tuesday, June 2, that Covid-19 disease has left a total of 352 dead in the country.

According to the report, in the last 24 hours there have been eight deaths due to the virus, which has infected 14,095 people.

In addition, according to the head of Epidemiology of the Minsa, Lourdes Moreno, 391 people are hospitalized; 77 in the intensive care units and 314 in the ward.

Moreno reminded Panamanians that they have to become aware of the situation and emphasized that they have three important weapons with the virus: staying home, mandatory use of face masks and alcohol gel.

She added that the mask is not a "cosmetic accessory" and should never be left hanging or covered only the mouth and not the nose.

"It is a process that we are moving towards the new normality and we all have to cooperate," said Moreno.

The Chief of Epidemiology highlighted that 9,514 of people recovered from the new coronavirus have been registered in the country.
