Covid-19 deaths increase to 295; total infected 10,267

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Friday afternoon, May 22, that the coronavirus has left a total of 295 dead in the country. There are 151 new cases of the virus in 24 hours.

According to official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 10,267, while 6,275 patients have recovered from the disease.

3,358 patients are in home isolation, of which 621 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 339 people are hospitalized; 271 of those in the ward and 68 in the intensive care units.

1,090 new tests were conducted in since the last report. The number of total tests is now 55,018, of which 42,806 were negative.

Cases by provinces: Panama 6,516 (+110), Panama West 1,931 (+29), Bocas del Toro 94 (+5), Chiriquí 296 (+3), Coclé 88 (+3), Colón 399 (+1), Guna Yala 227 (+0), Darién 204 (+0), Veraguas 400 (+0) , Ngäbe Buglé 79 (+0), Herrera 16 (+0) and Los Santos 17 (+0).
