COVID-19 cases in Chiriquí double in less than ten days

Since last Thursday, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) warned that sanitary controls had been intensified in two communities in Chiriquí due to the incidence of coronavirus cases and the latest figures reflect that the infections doubled in less than ten days.

According to the Minsa report on Monday, May 18, 243 cases of Covid-19 are counted in the Chiriqui province; on May 9, the report registered 120 cases. In other words 123 got infected in nine days.

According to yesterday's report, New Mexico with 62 cases and Divalá with 47 are the towns with the highest number of cases.

On Thursday, Minsa reported that they are implementing an epidemiological sweep with prevention, control and test application actions.

The Health authorities are also monitoring the advance of the virus in the area of Belisario Frías in San Miguelito.

Five days ago, 211 cases were reported; In yesterday's report, 22 cases were added to reach 233.
