Covid-19 cases expects to increase after holiday

A health expert expected coronavirus cases would rise after the long holiday, urging citizens to receive vaccination as soon as possible.

After resuming the BioNtech vaccination today, Hong Kong University leading biologist Yeun Kwong-yung received his second dose of BioNTech vaccine in Sai Ying Pun Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre.

He was not worried about the defective packaging issue before, saying that Queen Mary Hospital and the Department of Health have inspected 250 doses of vaccines and could not find any bacteria.

“Fewer people consult doctors and test for Covid-19 during the holiday," Yuen said.

He added that many doctors were off, leading to a decrease of confirmed cases in Hong Kong.

Yuen expected that there would be more confirmed cases after the long holiday. He also urged the citizens to receive vaccinations, or else they cannot travel or work overseas at the end of the year.
