The government considered allowing citizens who received Covid-19 vaccination to visit hospitals or healthcare centres, health chief Sophia Chan Siu-chee said.
Speaking on a radio program, she said that more people receiving vaccinations help resume cross-border travel restrictions.
“The government is still finding ways to attract citizens to receive coronavirus jabs.”
However, after seeing accidents after vaccination, she asked the public to “be careful” while deciding to receive vaccine jabs.
Until yesterday night, more than 304,000 people have received the first vaccine doses in Hong Kong, Chan said.
About 213,300 people picked the Sinovac vaccination, and the other 90,800 people chose to receive BioNTech jabs.
As for the AstraZeneca vaccine, she explained that the government signed a purchase agreement with the manufacturer.
"But they still have not applied for emergency use in Hong Kong," Chan said. "The officials will closely monitor the situation."
