Chief Executive clear of Covid

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu confirmed a negative result for Covid tests today after being tested as infected with coronavirus during his arrival from Bangkok to Hong Kong at the airport on Sunday.

In a post on his Facebook on Saturday, Lee confirmed his condition was improving as the result of a rapid antigen test showed "one single red line only" this morning.

He mentioned he has mild symptoms, such as coughing, and showed gratitude to the public for caring about his health.

Lee tested positive upon his arrival at Hong Kong airport the night of November 20 after he attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Thailand, where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other global leaders.

He has been working from home afterward and suspended Tuesday's weekly Executive Council meeting.
