Carrie Lam says border reopening with mainland China to be delayed

Hong Kong’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor announced on January 4, 2022, that the introduction of the city’s coronavirus vaccine passport plan would be delayed.

At her weekly press briefing, Lam also said the resumption of normal travel between Hong Kong and mainland China would be postponed due to the January 4 discovery of three confirmed virus cases that are epidemiologically linked to previous imported Covid-19 cases.
