The two met at Chief Executive's Office in the morning after Lee was selected as Hong Kong’s next leader on Sunday, as 1,461 voters cast ballots in the one-horse race.
Speaking to the media, Lee said they had addressed transitions of power in the coming weeks, including political reform,
Covid-19 prevention and HKSAR 25th anniversary celebration events.
He said the current government has had a detailed analysis and plan for the reform and that he appreciated the proposals concerned. They had also exchanged views on relevant details and will further discuss them afterward.
Lam said Sunday's election was successful and smooth. She wished Lee success in forming his governing team and will lead Hong Kong “to a greater height in the next five years”.
She said the election is the last of three elections in the first round after "improved electoral system", which reflected the full establishment of patriots administering Hong Kong.
She added that the current government still has a lot to do in the remaining term as there are only less than two months before the next government takes office.
She will provide Lee with all necessary assistance to form a new government and the re-organisation of the Government structure.
Lee also met Chief Justice of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal Andrew Cheung Kui-nung and the President of the Legislative Council Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen.
Lee stressed that he would safeguard the rule of law and judicial independence steadfastly, and accommodate the resources needed by the Judiciary to enable the courts to perform their duty under the Basic Law.
And during his subsequent meeting with Andrew Leung, Lee said that under the principle of "patriots administering Hong Kong", he would lead the new-term Government to enhance communication with the legislators for a positive and interactive relationship between the executive and the legislature, and enhance Hong Kong's governance capacity with concerted efforts.
Lee also met the Director of Liaison Office, Head of the Office for Safeguarding National Security in Hong Kong, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Commander-in-chief of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison on Monday.
