Boris Johnson kept himself at the forefront of the UK’s battle against coronavirus when he hosted a conference call at Downing Street this morning.

The prime minister was confirmed to have tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday and is in self-isolation at Number 11 after experiencing ‘mild symptoms’. After announcing his diagnosis in a video yesterday, he assured the nation that ‘thanks to the wizardry of modern technology I can continue to communicate with my top team to lead the national fightback against coronavirus.’

Pictures showed the Tory politician had kept true to his word, as he joined a gathering of key advisers via video link.
