Bolivia adds for the first time 1,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day

Bolivia added this Saturday June 20 for the first time a thousand daily cases of coronavirus in a single day, with which it registers a total of 23 thousand 512 infections since the start of the pandemic.

The daily figure of 1,336 confirmed cases is the highest since the first cases were reported in Bolivia in mid-March, where Covid-19 caused 740 deaths.

Four departments concentrate 92% of infections: Santa Cruz (60%), Beni (15%), Cochabamba (10%) and La Paz (7%).

The expansion of the pandemic in Bolivia, a country of more than 11 million inhabitants, is registered at a time when the health system exposes its weaknesses due to the lack of coordination, the lack of medicines and medical equipment, and the progressive contagions of the health personnel attending to the emergency.
