Baptist University student among eight infected today

A student from Baptist University, also a football coach at a primary school, was among seven others confirmed of Covid-19 today.

The 22-year-old student developed a running nose on March 25 and was tested on March 26. He last visited the university campus on March 18 and 22. He lives in Block 7 of Fullview Garden in Siu Sai Wan.

He had been to three buildings within the campus, namely the Communication and Visual Arts Building, Lui Ming Choi Centre and the Academic and Administration Building.

The patient was also said to have coached a football class at Victoria Park. Three other coaches and 12 kids listed as close contact will be put under quarantine.

Meanwhile, Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the Centre for Health Protection's Communicable Disease Branch, said the other seven patients today were imported cases.

The seven include returnees from the Philippines, Turkey, and the USA.

There were also around 4 preliminary positive cases today, most of which were imported cases with no untraceable local infections.
