754 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths within 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Thursday, June 18, that there are 754 new cases of the virus in 24 hours. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 475 dead in the country.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 23,351, while 13,782 patients have recovered from the disease.

A total of five new deaths were recorded over 24 hours. Two of the new death cases were women at age 41 and 68. Three of the death cases were men at age 57, 67 and 81.

There are currently 9,094 active cases.

Testing

2,468 new tests were conducted in since the last report. The number of total tests is now 99,870, of which 73,779 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 2,334 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

7,717 patients are in home isolation and 784 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 476 are in the hospital ward and 117 in the intensive care units.

Cases by provinces: Panama 14,561, Panama West 4,207, Veraguas 928, Colón 818, Chiriquí 767, Bocas del Toro 704, Darién 697, Guna Yala 249, Ngäbe Buglé 184, Coclé 187, Herrera 25 and Los Santos 21.
