736 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths within 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Monday, June 15, that there are 736 new cases of the virus in 24 hours. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 448 dead in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 85% of the cases infected with Covid-19 correspond to residents of the provinces of Panama and Panama West.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 21,422, while 13,766 patients have recovered from the disease.

A total of 11 new deaths were recorded over 24 hours. One of the new death cases was a wome; at age 17, who had a history of other illness, including down syndrome and obesity. 10 of the death cases were men at age between 33 and 90.

There are currently 7,208 active cases.

Testing

2,009 new tests were conducted in since the last report. The number of total tests is now 93,646, of which 69,528 were negative.

Testing rate is reported to cover 2,188 per 100,000 population.

Treatment

5,824 patients are in home isolation and 833 are in so-called hospital hotels.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 449 are in the hospital ward and 102 in the intensive care units.
