The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced on Tuesday, June 23, that there are 562 new cases of the virus in 24 hours. According to the official report, the coronavirus has left a total of 536 dead in the country.

According to the official data, the total number of infected with the virus in the country is now 27,314, while 14,694 patients have clinically recovered from the disease. There are currently 12,084 active cases.

According to MINSA, the cases continue to increase in Panama and Panama West. The increase in the detection of positive cases in Panama is the result of implementing an aggressive test plan throughout the country, which has allowed not only the detection of more cases, but the active search for contacts and medical follow-up.

MINSA received an important and valuable contribution of five MTV100 model ventilators, through a donation made by the collaborators of the Judicial Branch. Also, a donation of 10 Mindray SV800 ventilators delivered by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China was received through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These ventilators, considered to be of the highest technology, will be distributed in the intensive care rooms of the public health system.

These contributions are of great importance to double the installed capacity in the country's hospitals and thus help hospital centers have the tools required for care and treatment. In addition, MINSA reminds the population that you are the first safety ring to prevent contagion, so it is important that you apply biosecurity and hygiene measures both at home and when leaving the house.
